Profile of Md. Habibur Rahman

Md. Habibur Rahman is a dedicated social worker, educator, and academic leader with a strong focus on education, mental health, and international collaboration. He holds advanced degrees from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) and Dhaka University, including an MPhil, and is currently pursuing his PhD.

Mr. Rahman has had a long and distinguished association with the People’s University of Bangladesh (PUB), where he served as Faculty Member, Chairman of the Department of Social Work, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Proctor. His leadership has significantly contributed to academic development, student guidance, and institutional growth.

Beyond academia, Mr. Rahman has played a pioneering role in advancing social work practice and community engagement. He is the Founder & Chairman of the Community Social Work Practice and Development Foundation (CSWPD) and the Adviser of the Institute of Community Empowerment and Research (ICER)—an organization he established in 2017 as a sister concern of CSWPD. Under his vision, ICER has become a hub for community-based research, mental health awareness, student counseling, training, and sustainable development initiatives.

In addition to his national contributions, Mr. Rahman is actively engaged in international forums and conferences, including the prestigious Eurasia Conference, where he represents Bangladesh in global dialogues on education, empowerment, and social welfare. His expertise, vision, and international networking have positioned him as a prospective candidate for leadership roles, including the presidency of academic and professional associations worldwide.
